Leadership for Out-of-School Time

"To my mind, the more than 10,000 afterschool programs that the government funds through the 21 Century Community Learning Centers grants have not done a good enough job yet of linking their programs to improved academic outcomes... Not enough of the initiatives are high-quality programs -- or have the data to demonstrate that they work." U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Education Daily, November 12, 2009

After more than seven years of training and evaluating hundreds of Out-of-School Time programs; collecting, aggregating and analyzing data from those programs; discovering programming that promotes and achieves documented academic and social success, we are now going to share with you what we have learned.

Mr. Travis A. Frederickson has been involved with Out-of-School time programs from the inception of the State administered 21st CCLC program and has been instrumental in the development and evaluation of programs in two states. Mr. Jack Hatch has logged literally thousands of hours both in OST programs as well as managing and reporting massive amounts of data. They know what it takes and how to communicate it. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn what it takes to meet the academic and social challenges faced by OST programs today.
